Yay LETS GO!!!
Welcome to Moments Papercraft Shoppe Blog!!
I'm a small home-based business in Edgecumbe - I've got a constantly growing and changing array of goodies for papercrafting, card-making and scrapbooking!
I run evening classes on scrapbooking techniques and projects (hope to extend this to day classes next year!) and am open when you want me to be (usually!).

UPDATE: The latest shipment has finally been released from Customs and will hopefully be here by Friday! I've got over 500 new papers, a huge range of flowers and other embellishments and some tools etc coming. With this shipment, we'll also become a stockist of the gorgeous Basic Grey range!

We had a fabulous clock class on Monday night - we made three very different clocks!
Next class is next week - we'll be having a play with paper flowers to achieve different effects and create a layout using Kaisercrafts Flutterby orange and pink range!
I'm awaiting over 50 new and different papers... when it arrives, I'll be sure to let you all know - Im sooo excited!

Loire Valley Clock
This gorgeous clock would make a beautiful gift for Christmas for grandparents or best friends!
Using the sumptuous range of Kaisercraft Loire Valley papers, the MDF clock can be assembled using 3 photos and a few simple embellishments! We'll be using the new i-top brad maker in this class as well!

December Layout Class
This month's scrapbooking layout class uses the gorgeous Flutterby range from Kaisercraft, along with lots of little paper flowers, to create an eye-catching and bold page of pink and orange!
Im working on it right now - the glitter isnt even dry in this photo! - and Im still adding a few small butterflies! There is some scope to personalise the layout, and you can choose from 'cherish', 'believe', 'dream' and 'sweet'as the title. A lovely layout for little girls and big ones!
$15 per person, $12 for VIP members. Includes all materials.

Its the 1st of December so I hope you have finished your advent calendars and are ready for a merry and safe festive season!! Since Christmas is a time of giving, its a wonderful time to make your own gifts! Mini-albums, off-the-page, wall pictures, clocks, gift-boxes and wrap - its the season to be showing of your papercraft! Hope this newsletter inspires!
In other news.......... I still have loads of bling so come and stock up at these great prices and add some sparkle to your festive projects! I have never seen so many colours, shapes, words and sizes of rhinestones so come and check out the range!!!
I was thrilled to be shortlisted for the Up2Scrap design team... I didnt make it to the final four but did get a mention in the mag! http://www.up2scrap.co.nz/ I loved putting together the portfolio!
I have also been busy making up projects for next years classes.... Tracey from The Itchy Nail at Palmers Whakatane is planning a mini-album so thats exciting - watch this space! - and I also have several technique and layout classes planned!
Finally, I have a new add-on kit for the month, using the very gorgeous Airy Fairy range from Kaisercraft - beautiful pixie fairies and delicate butterflies.... these kits have been hugely popular with my out-of-town scrappers and they're a great, affordable way to add to your stash and try something new!!!

Making a 12x12 album can be a daunting task, but they are beautiful and make fabulous gifts! Here are a few ideas:
*Use a Lickety Slip album from Bazzil Basics - these have little pockets for 6x4 photos so you can make up the album with a combination of 12x12 layouts and 'traditional' album pages
*Give the album as a gift and make a new 12x12 layout each Christmas (great for grandparents!)
*Have several people contribute to the album!

This Weekend!

I have just unpacked 6 - yes, SIX! - boxes of rhinestones, papers, flowers and stickers so there are LOADS of new goodies to goo over!
The room is starting to resemble Aladins Cave - a treasure trove of wonderful items and bliss for a scrapbooker!!!
But I do have TOO MUCH stock so thats why we're in need of a bit of a sale this weekend!

To a very merry crafting Christmas!
Hi! I hope this finds you well!
In between unpacking boxes of new products, we are just finalising our new logo and hope that will be in place soon. Once that's done, I am arranging some new signage so it's all very exciting here at Moments Papercraft Shoppe!

Make Your Own Embellishments
We had a ball making our own embellishments for this mornings class! Brads to flowers, paper to paint, buttons to animals - we cut, glued and glittered..... and let our imaginations go wild! It was a really fun class to do!
I have postponed Scrapbooking on a Budget until another date.
The next class is Thursday 19th November, at 7pm (yup, thats THIS Thursday!) and we're doing the heel. Contact me for more details!

Flower Patch
Making Memories FLOWER PATCH range is gorgeous! We've had this glitter paper in store for awhile -its a feature of several of our kits!
Now I'm making it a part of our new 'Scrapbooking Techniques' classes that will be starting soon! We'll be using Flower Patch for our double-layout class:

Advent Calendars
The Kaisercraft Advent Calendar is simply gorgeous!!!
Aside from counting down the days till Christmas, you'll also find this off-the-page project is perfect for reward charts for kids or to give as a gift! The boxes are a generous size for hiding money, vouhcers, chocolates, lollies and messages! The limit is only your imagination!!
We currently have the Advent Calendar in stock - but they're going FAST! Buy the calendar for $40 or buy the whole kit to make the picture below for $55 - includes bauble, bling, and papers! Just add paint and you're away!
We made this as part of the Christmas Extravaganza - but I have to warn you - this project does not lend itself to a class, as it takes a bit to put together (and since crops and classes are for chatting, you cant work and talk and achieve big projects all at the same time!).

Xmas Planning Organiser/Mini-Book
This is a project I did for the Extravaganza. Its based upon my birthday book. The idea is to have a Christmas Card mailing list and pockets to store your Xmas cards, envelopes and stamps. Its reusable year after year and also makes a fabulous gift!
For the Extravaganza we did something a little different and created an organisation folder, which combined the mailing list along with lists for Xmas buying trees, Xmas dinner and special things like Xmas traditions and special ornaments. There are lots of places to add festive photos so you can really personalise the book!
One lovely lady in one of the classes I have done for this project, turned hers into more of a mini-album for Xmas photos. It really is a versatile project!

ONLINE PROJECT
This months online project/challenge is this page map....
As it's October, I am setting the theme to be PINK - Breast Awareness.... so any of the following themes would be acceptable:

*a favourite woman in your life
*in memory of
*breasts
*cancer
The project is supposed to be fun and take you out of your comfort zone. If you have been a little unmotivated, hopefully this will help!
We have pink cardstock in store and pink fozz felt and paper flowers!

Christmas Scrapbooking Class
Our Scrapbooking Class for November will of course be Xmas themed! I have some gorgeous papers from Imaginisce - a very beautiful tree design or a fun Xmas light design... I'll try and get a better photo before then. Class includes bling words, papers, embellishments etc, and we'll be making a brad with the new Imaginisce i-top brad maker - how cool!!!
We'll make letters with the cuttlebug, and we can leave a space for your photo for this year or you can scrap a previous Christmas :-)

Hey all!
halfway through October!
Our Xmas Extravaganza was great fun and we had alot of fun doing the projects. It was a little bit stressful after such a busy crazy week (a very sick baby) so I wasnt as organised as I would have liked, but it was good anyway!
I worked out with the girls who did the advent calendar class, that it will take more than 2 hours to complete this project (they thought it might take the whole weekend, I think less than 4 hours :-) Guess it depends on what you're doing!)I think I underestimated the extra time you need in a class scenario compared to when you're doing this at home!!!
Anyway, I will be ordering more of these in, so reserve yours with prepayment asap!
I will be doing an off-the-page clock class in November - this would make a lovely gift for a friend, mother-in-law etc... We'll be using the Loire Valley paper from kaisercraft along with matching embellishments. I'll get pics up asap of teh finished project. $25 class, includes clock, mechanism, paint, paper and embellishments!
I have new Thickers alphas, rub-ons, magazines and 2009 Xmas ranges from Imaginisce and Kaisercraft.... and I have ordered more of the kaisercraft storage folders as these have sold out!!
OUR NEXT OPEN MORNING IS THIS WEEKEND... Saturday 24th October.... its labour weekend, so if you have visitors, bring them along too! No cropping, just good ole` shopping!!!! 9am - 12pm no appointment necessary!
Am toying with the idea of expanding my ranges so obviously I'll need a bigger workspace!! This isnt as easy as said so watch this space while I try and make this a reality!

A Fun Extravaganza Weekend
We had fun with a few Whakatane crafters this weekend - thanks for being a part of it! If you couldnt make it, we have kits and instructions for most of the kits left-over :-)

GIMME GIMME GIMME
A man after midnight - one of those gorgeous boys in the Mamma Mia show - HAHAHA ..... or perhaps some of the gorgeous new papers arriving from the Kaisercraft Q2 range! I'm sooo looking forward to scrapping Xmas this year with these ranges.
Im also looking forward to journalling about our Mamma Mia weekend away and creating a layout to remember! Might have to keep an eye out for some bright ranges to complement - I expect some of the new Summer ranges should have bright colours. I'll keep you posted when I find some!
We've now confirmed our classes for the Christmas Craft Extravaganza and we are taking bookings. Your payment will secure your spot - we're limited to 8 people per class and some of these projects are VERY popular! I'm expecting the waterfall album and the clock to be booked early but I know that Xmas cards are always popular too!
In particular, please book early for the Advent Calendar as I need to order these materials from Aussie before the class and I dont want anyone to miss out!!!

Oct/Nov Calendar

Welcome to October! Isnt the year flying by... its time to start preparing for Christmas!!
I've had a box-full of embellishment goodies arrive! There are top brands - Heidi Swapp, S.e.i, Autumn Leaves and EK Success - but more importantly, there are gorgeous designs and ideas - clips, felt butterflies, Disney stickers, brads etc. There are new packs of alphabets as well...... There is limited stock of these items so get in quick!!!
We have some new Cuttlebug folders too - all the latest designs, gorgeous and so useful. $13 per folder or $19 for TWO - great value! - these packs of two come pre-packed and there is a great selection to suit everyone!!!
New Cricut felts/markers have arrived too, so you can draw instead of cutting :-) I'm looking forward to trying these out myself!!

October and November are both shaping up to be HUGE and BUSY with

Moments Edgecumbe Update - August
Hi all!
I’ve managed to grow ‘Moments’ from a small box of stock into an entire wall of products over the past two months – thanks so much for your support, enthusiasm and purchases!
Spreading the word has been awesome as well – thank you!
Our launch party in July was fun and low-key – we made several cards and a scrapbooking layout. We followed this with a quiet crop morning on a terrible wet morning – perfect weather for crafting!
July was also a crazy cutting month – I sold FOUR Cuttlebugs and TWO Cricut machines!! Don’t forget I stock cartridges, dies and replacement mats and blades for these machines, and can order anything else you need as well ☺
August has been a bit quieter on the craft front - we did have one very successful crop morning – but generally everyone seems busy with other things!
However we have had new stock arriving every single week, which has been soooo exciting and
helped boost our supplies and range!
I have set the dates for the next two months. If you are interested in these classes, please let me know in case I have to change the date. Also, I have a limited number of places so need RSVP’s sooner rather than later! Let me know if you wont be able to make it after all as well - if there is a waiting list, I can then offer someone else that seat.

September’s class will be Making Your Own Embellishments. Loads of ideas for saving money
and being creative! If you make your own embellishments, noone elses page will ever look
the same, you’ll get an accessory that matches your layout perfectly, and you may save some
money too!
All our crop mornings (and night!) are free – just bring a small plate/pack of biscuits for morning tea (supper!) and all your own gear! Please also bring a cropping/cutting mat to work on.
Kids are more than welcome during DAY crops ☺and you can come for an hour (if the whole three hours seems daunting!). Night crops start at 7pm and are a great opportunity for some girly kid-free time!
September will be absolutely awesome with several large boxes of hugely discounted craft items due to arrive! I’ll let you know when it all gets here – but I promise you will want to be fast!
Its almost Xmas-crafting time again so get prepared, save money and make gifts that are
meaningful! We are planning a massive bonanza - Jenn, Delys and I will be doing classes for Christmas gifts, wrapping, cards, decorations and more! You wont want to miss this!!! 16 & 18 October – I’ll keep you posted when we know more!

is................ keep a journal/notebook handy - like on the kitchen bench! This way you can quickly record any special moments, jokes or funny things your babe is doing/learning - perfect for capturing those 'out of the mouth of babes' moments!
These are the little quirky things that you think you will remember but sadly you forget!
Next time you sit down to scrapbook, your notebook will provide you with inspiration and lots of ideas for journalling and page titles!
If you take a special photo of something in particular, you can take a note in the journal so when it comes time to scrap it - the story is ready to go!!

Our August Challenge!
The Challenge is....
SCRAPBOOK A SONG TITLE!
You can use the song title to describe a moment or series of photos, or scrap why you like/hate this song!
Thing 'You're Beautiful' from James Blunt for a baby photo. Maybe it was 'MAMMA MIA' when you discovered you were pregnant, or 'What a Wonderful World' when you see your babe grow. Is it 'Not Me, Not I' for a toddler's messy moment, or Abba's "Angel Eye's for your baby's first photo?

I have decided to add another crop morning for August, because I am expecting loads of new stock in the next two weeks - which is very exciting!! - including some special customer orders. This will allow you to come and pick them up :-)

15 August - class - Using the Die Cut Machines - $15 (buy a Cricut mat at this class for just $10!) & CROP & CUT ($5) - you can join in the class or work on your own project!
22 August - crop & cut
5 September - class - Make Your Own Embellishments - $10
19 September - crop & cut
Crop & Cut is a morning session - $5 table fee - includes morning tea and use of die-cut machines. (You must have your own Cricut Mat to use the machine. You dont need anything special to use the Cuttlebug!)
Classes are $10 unless otherwise stated and includes morning tea and materials.
All my classes on a Saturday morning are 9am - 12pm and are BABY-FRIENDLY. I'm going for a very casual atmosphere!!
If there is enough demand, I can do classes in the evening too :-). Let me know which you prefer!
The Die Cutting class is to show you how to use the machines! If you want to use the machines during a crop morning, it is essential that you have done this class so you know how to use them! If you have taken advantage of our July specials and now own a Cricut or Cuttlebug, you'll want to see some ideas on using the machines! And if you dont know what they are, or would like to see what they can do (and consider buying one yourself!) then come along and have a play!).
WE HAVE SOME NEW DIES to play with - including a very cool TRAIN!!! Perfect for boy's pages!
Cricut Mats are $12 and are yours to keep, so you can use them each Crop & Cut class.
Learn to make your own Embellishments using a combination of papers and household materials! This will be a fun class! Embellishments can really make a page and they can also be quite pricey, so come and learn some techniques, have a play, and see what you can come up with!!
PLEASE PLEASE book in advance and please let me know if you no longer intend to come - I only have limited places and its not fair for others to miss out!
Dont forget to check with your friend/mum/sister/daughter/coffee group - someone may want to tag along with you!!

Cars - Moments Baby Boy
This one is using the Upsy Daisy Designs paper from the Moments Baby Boy kit. It is a very simple layout, here is how I have done it:
I cut a piece out of my background paper and covered the whole with some plain cardstock. This cardstock I scrunched and then flattened for texture.
I cut the piece I had cut out into two - this is hte spotty paper (which is what is on the back of the cars background page).
I glued on my photo and I was done!
I have added journalling and next time I have the cricut out, I'll add a title :-)

Introducing the Moments Baby Boy Kit!
The MOMENTS Boy Scrapbooking Kit comes with this gorgeous swirly summer-fun paper from Imaginisce (thats the wavy one in the photo!). You can do so much with this, but in this layout I decided to combine it with the DIE-CUT sheet from Making Memories, that is in both kits.
I also used the stamp that is in the kit (each kit comes with two stamps which varies between each pack!) to make the frog, which I cut around.
The layout is very simple and all I need to do now is add a title!
We have set the date for our August Cut & Crop ALTHOUGH I'm considering adding another Saturday to the mix since I only have room for 6 per day.
Also am looking at ideas for different classes for August - let me know what you would like to learn/see/do. Would you like to make a project or just a layout? Would you like to learn a new technique or just have fun? Let me know!!

This Month's MOMENTS add-on kit is

The monthly kits are a great way to build up your scrapbooking stash, try new products and new ideas. Every month we choose a theme and a few pieces of paper and matching embellishments to try. This way you can something different without the big cost.

July Challenge Pic
Here is my take on the July Challenge!
I have been following the Scrapbox blog http://www.scrapboxnz.blogspot.com/ - I absolutely love their papers!! Anyway, the challenge was for a round layout and I just had these gorgeous Making Memories paper arrive instore.
I tried loads of new techniques for this layout. Before I started, I also set our MOMENTS challenge for the month - to create a single page layout using LACE or fabric, and at least one BUTTON, and using PEARLS or rhinestones...
This is what I came up with! I stamped the butterfly onto acetate, used the Cricut, used new Dimensional Magic and had a bit of fun with paint. The finished layout was displayed at T's birthday party too!
I submitted it to Scrapbox NZ - and I won! My first ever win for a layout - YAY! Now that its been displayed on their website, I'd like to show it you gals!

Crop & Cut Feedback
Last week's Crop & Cut morning was low-key but productive!
Thanks to Amanda and Michelle for braving the HORRIFIC weather - it was great to start our monthly mornings with you!
Michelle took advantage of our CUTTLEBUG special that is currently on, and had a play with all our fabulous dies and cutting folders. Amanda showed of her works-in-progress and also completed a layout - Well Done!
I too completed TWO layouts on the Saturday morning, one was a winter layout - I used the cuttlebug to cut the snowmen out of acetate, which I then inked. The other layout was a pink/brown 'Me & Nan' page using some of the beautiful 'Unwritten' papers from Upsy Daisy Designs, which are now instore. I created a pocket to hold a little journalling book that I cut, so that Nan can write a special note/letter to baby.
The 'Unwritten' range is all black and white and focuses on journalling, stories, flourishes and butterflies. I also have some other beautiful black and white papers - these would be very inspiring for wedding-themed stationary!!
Also new instore is an ever-growing range of Bazzill cardstock, the Baby Powder range from Imaginisce at some crazy prizes!! and some other new patterned papers.
I have some awesome new dies for the Cuttlebug - butterflies mostly, including the new Spellbinders range. Come and have a play and remember I can order anything you need!
